RCF SpA, the Italian professional audio manufacturer, has strengthened its global brand protection efforts after winning a major trademark case in China. The company is also emphasising its security hologram as an important way for customers to verify the authenticity of products.
The Intermediate People's Court of Ningbo City in Zhejiang Province confirmed an earlier decision that Ningbo S&A Electronics had violated RCF's registered trademarks by using the ‘RCF’ and ‘rcf’ names in online promotions. The court ordered the company to stop using the trademarks without permission and to pay compensation for economic losses and legal costs.
RCF called the court's decision an important step in protecting its intellectual property, reputation, customers, and authorised sales network.
‘For RCF, trademark protection is not only a legal matter. It is a direct commitment to the people who choose our products and rely on the authenticity associated with our name’, said Gioia Molinari, Director of Marketing and PR at RCF.
After the ruling, RCF reminded customers to buy products only from authorised dealers, check serial numbers using the MY RCF platform, and look for the RCF Security Hologram. This hologram helps customers make sure they have bought a genuine RCF product.
